Ceremony of awarding diplomas of universities - members of the consortium «Sorbonne Paris Cite»


January 25, 2018 at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute was held a ceremony of awarding diplomas of the universities - members of the consortium «Sorbonne Paris Cité» to 22 graduates of two-degree magistracy programs 2015 - 2017.

Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute began its work in 2014. This institute was established at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University in the framework of cooperation with the consortium «Sorbonne Paris Cité». The opening ceremony was attended by the leaders of the two countries: President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of the French Republic Francois Hollande. This large-scale Central Asian project in the field of higher education and science is aimed at training personnel in French under joint bachelor programs (Management, Marketing, International Relations, International Law, Psychology, Geography) and a two-diploma Master`s programs («International Dialogue in the Context of Globalization» («International Relations») and «Management of Changes in the Modern World» («Management»)).

Opening the event, the first pro-rector KazNPU them. Abay Maktagali Bektemesov emphasized the importance of such an international project as the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute and a two-diploma Kazakh-French program, and then gave the floor to Philippe Martine.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Kazakhstan Philippe Martine congratulated the graduates, thanked the leaders and teachers of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute for their contribution to the development of Kazakh-French relations in the field of education and science. In his speech he also stressed: «The Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute is building our common future. Today France is a country of start-ups, we built the largest incubator in the world. France is a country of French, mathematics, and innovation. France and Kazakhstan are developing a strategic partnership, we must host as many Kazakhstani students as possible. In this regard, together with the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerlan Sagadiev, we launched a new student mobility program for Kazakhstan, named after two writers - Abai Kunanbayev and Jules Verne. The Government of France and the Center finance this program of student mobility for International Programs of Kazakhstan. It will allow Kazakhstanis to study in France».

In the course of the event, Igor Rogov, Anne Grinberg and Antoine Cazet made a congratulatory speech. Guests of the ceremony wished the graduates of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute further successes and presented diplomas.
