The project «Summer Institute for Teachers and Researchers»

The project «Summer Institute for Teachers and Researchers», initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, will be held for the second time at the Pskov State University from 29th July to 11th August in 2024.

The project participants will be young teachers and researchers from universities and research institutes of the Republic of Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Abkhazia and other CIS countries and far abroad.

Pskov State University will provide training in the field of «Russian as the language of interethnic communication». Its purpose is to involve researchers and teachers from the CIS and neighboring countries in the Russian scientific and educational environment, to establish and develop educational, research and project cooperation in the field of humanities, primarily philological sciences, between Russian researchers and their colleagues from the CIS and neighboring countries.

Russian students will immerse themselves in the research issues and educational traditions of the Pskov State University School of Philology and its partner organizations, get acquainted with leading Russian scientists involved in the study of the communication foundations of interethnic communication, the role of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication in the modern world, the analysis of problems and ways to solve them in teaching Russian language in a foreign school.

Within the framework of the educational block, work is expected on three modules: «Communication foundations of interethnic communication. Russian language role in the world», «Issues of teaching Russian in foreign schools», «Linguistic and cultural characteristics of the Russian language as a language of interethnic communication». The students will also undergo an internship at the Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language, the Faculty of Humanities of St. Petersburg State University of Economics, and the Peoples` Friendship University of Russia.

The cultural and leisure block includes an excursion program in Pskov and the Pskov region, master classes on Russian traditions and folk rituals from the folklore ensemble «Pleskava» and an interactive «Singing classics» from a group of teachers and students of Pskov State University «Fathers and Children». The participants will also visit the Pskov Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin and the Pskov Regional Philharmonic.

From the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University were chosen to participate in the summer school: Head of the Department of Eastern philology and translation Konakbayeva Nazym, postgraduate of the Department of Russian language and literature Kanafina Zarina and the leading specialist Kudaibergenova Asylzat.
