The Eurasian Steppe and World Civilization in the Middle Ages

From January 15 to 24, 2025, the Department of "History of Kazakhstan in Ancient and Medieval Times" at the Faculty of History and Law of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay will host an international "Winter School" on the theme "The Eurasian Steppe and World Civilization in the Middle Ages."

The goal of the "Winter School" is to showcase the level of research on the history of the Eurasian Steppes in the Middle Age in modern historical scholarship, its place in global civilization, provide impetus for new research, create opportunities for students to take advanced courses at the Bachelor`s, Master`s and Doctoral levels, as well as provide historians with an opportunity to enhance their skills. Leading scholars from Kazakhstan and abroad will present reports on the history of Eurasia during the Middle Ages at the Winter School. Speakers will present the findings and conclusions of their studies on key topics.

"Winter School" is held online on the Zoom platform. We invite those interested in the political, ethnic and cultural history of the Eurasian Steppes during the Middle Ages, and the problem of its place in world civilization, to take part in Winter School!!! At the end of Winter School, participants receive a certificate of advanced training.
