Department of  Pedagogy and Methods of  Elementary Education is graduating in the preparation of  teaching staff  in the specialties of  educational programs of three levels (bachelor - master - doctorate): 5B (6M, 6D) 010200 - Pedagogy and methods of  Elementary education.

The work of the department is aimed at designing the educational environment, educational technologies, methods and organizational forms that contribute to the formation of  the personality of the future primary school teacher, who has a basic social culture, the ability to self-development and self-realization. Much attention is paid to improving pedagogical practice, which occupies an important place in the system of  teacher training, which is of a complex nature and covers all areas of the professional activity of  the primary school teacher.

Teaching staff of  the department lectures on the academic disciplines of  the compulsory cycle and the courses of choice specified in curricula of specialties 5B010200 - "Pedagogy and methodology of primary education". Scientific and pedagogical potential of the department is represented by doctors of sciences, professors, candidates of sciences, associate professors, leading scientists in the field of pedagogy and methods of elementary education, authors of  textbooks for primary classes of  Kazakh and Russian schools, teaching aids for universities. Students specializing in pedagogy and methods of  primary education  receive additional specialization in informatics, English, music.

The teaching staff of the department  together with foreign scientists have developed an international standard for the specialty 5B010200 - "Pedagogy and methodology of  primary education", as well as a compulsory standard of primary school. Teachers of the department are authors of  standard curricula for basic disciplines for specialties 5B010200 - "Pedagogy and methodology of primary education", approved by the order of  the Minister of Education and Science of  the Republic of  Kazakhstan  № 283 of June 18, 2012.
