Abai University launched the project «Accelerator of good»/«Izgilik elshіsі»

 

On October 7, 2019, at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, together with the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, with the participation of the head of the Agency, Alik Shpekbayev, the project «Accelerator of Good»/«Izgilik elshіsі» was launched.


Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alik Shpekbayev and Head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Kairat Suntaev, representatives of the Anti-Corruption Service of Almaty, university leaders, journalists and volunteers of the Accelerator of Good / «Izgilik elshіsі» project.


«Accelerator of good» is a project that includes a group of volunteers from among students of the movement «Izgilik elshіsі». It will help to increase the activity of civil society, involving it in volunteering, especially youth.


The goal of the project is to develop humanity and compassion, to foster a sense of respect, responsiveness, integrity.


Rector Takir Balykbayev noted the importance of the project in the framework of the Year of Volunteers, attracting young people to help those in need: large and low-income families, single mothers, families with children in difficult situations, raising children with disabilities. «The university launched a project together with the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty. The main idea is to urge youth to kindness, decency, and charitable assistance. And we need to talk about these values not only in the lessons, but to show actions. The project acts as a link between those who need help and those who want to do good. Our goal is to help needy large families and parents raising children who need special care. We receive information from the Ministry of Social Protection and Labor. Teachers and employees of Abai KazNPU has already helped the first 18 families», the rector said. According to him, the project created a database of needy families.


The project coordinator, co-director of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, Ainur Sabitova, spoke in detail about the progress of the project activities and future plans.


The Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alik Shpekbayev, thanked rector Takir Balykbaуev, project organizers and volunteers for helping those in need. Wishing success in the project, he also emphasized that all services of state bodies and institutions should be ensured by openness and transparency, a responsible approach to work. Alik Shpekbayev expressed hope that the project will show its viability in the future and will be implemented in all regions of the country, where any citizen who needs help can get it.


«I really liked this idea. I think this is a big deal for young people. I am pleased that students were the first to volunteer. The fact that you are helping families in need is commendable. It needs to be distributed. For our part, we will do whatever is necessary», said Alik Shpekbayev, Chairman of the Agency for Anti-Corruption of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
