Shanyrak of art education of Kazakhstan
(50th anniversaryof the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of Abai KazNPU)

From October 9 to October 12, 2019, solemn events were held dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

Graduates of different years of Abai KazNPU, scientists, teachers of domestic and foreign art schools, representatives of various creative groups took part in the anniversary celebrations. On the first day, they visited the university`s academic buildings and the museum of the Institute of Art, Culture and Sports, where an exhibition of the works of 2009 graduates opened.

Foreign guests also took part in the festivities. So, the joint choir of the University of Latvia and Abai KazNPU gave a concert, performing various vocal works. An exhibition of works by professors and teachers of the teaching staff of art and design of the Nizhnevartovsk State University (Russia) was opened.

The second day of the anniversary began with the international art forum «The Great Steppe: contemporary art education». Forum moderator, University rector Takir Balykbaуev told the audience about the 90-year history of Abai KazNPU and the achievements of today, including the stages of development of the Institute of Art, Culture and Sports and its new successes.

Academician of the Russian Academy of Education S. Lomov, Director of the Institute of Arts of Omsk State Pedagogical University L. Medvedev, Member of the State Duma Committee on Ethnic Issues R. Kanapiyanova, professors of Moscow State Pedagogical University V. Korechkov, S. Ignatiev, Professor of Novosibirsk State University O. Chaliapin, Professor Jiang Qing University of China Se-He-Xing and other participants of the anniversary celebrations exchanged views on pressing issues of art education and ways to solve them, putting forward their suggestions. In the afternoon, participants of the art forum, working in four sections, spoke about the theory and practice of art education in their countries and in the world. On October 11, the Central State Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an exhibition of works by graduates and teachers of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports under the name «Jubilee Palette» (painting, graphics, sculpture). The rector of the university Takir Balykbaуev, having opened this event, wished success to all the masters of fine art.

A solemn meeting dedicated to this date concluded the anniversary events. Rector Takir Balykbaуev reviewed the half-century activity of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports and awarded its teaching staff and guests of the festival with anniversary medals.
