Non-proliferation of coronavirus infection and preventive measures

On March 6, 2020, Abai KazNPU under the chairmanship of the first vice-rector Makhtagali Bektemesov held an urgent meeting with the participation of vice-rectors, heads of structural divisions and directors and deputy directors of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute for Coronavirus Prevention.

During the meeting, Makhtagali Bektemessov told about the complex of measures being taken at the university to prevent the transmission and spread of coronavirus infection, and also gave a number of instructions recently on foreign students on the program of academic mobility.

In particular, the Department of International Cooperation was instructed to compile and submit a list of students who completed their study abroad program in the second half of this academic year, as well as students who had left for study, to Health Office.

He also discussed current issues with students at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute and instructed the institute recently to consider the possibility of training students from France under a distance education program and to gain full medical supervision.

At the end of the meeting, the Vice-Rector urged all the Vice-Rectors and heads of departments to strictly adhere to the precautionary measures and the prevention of coronavirus on the basis of the Resolution of the Minister of Health Elzhan Birtanov.
