Dear veterans of the Great Patriotic War and rear workers! Dear teachers, staff, students!
I sincerely congratulate you on the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945!
Victory Day is a common and sacred holiday for all of us. After all, the heroism of the older generation, who fought for the liberation of mankind from the bloody clutches of fascism and the establishment of lasting peace in the world, decided the fate of many nations.
In this terrible war, Kazakhstanis fought like a real hero against the evil enemy. The 316th Rifle Division, commanded by I.V. Panfilov, and a special battalion led by Baurzhan Momyshuly, set an example of legendary heroism in defending Moscow from the enemy. Zhambyl`s fiery songs inspired the soldiers of the entire Soviet Union, calling on the people of the besieged city on the banks of the Neva to victory.
Talgat Bigeldinov, a two-time Hero of the Soviet Union, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, the first Kazakh to raise flag over the Reichstag, and hundreds of our heroes showed the height of the spirit of our people. Eight teachers and students of KazPI named after Abai were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, many were awarded orders and medals. Their names are written in golden letters in the history of our university.
May the Victory Day further strengthen in our memory the heroism of the people of Kazakhstan who gave their lives for our future and freedom. The heroic traditions of our heroes serve to educate today`s generation to patriotism and patriotism. We have always considered it our moral duty to respect and honor our veterans. We thank all the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and the participants of the labor front.
I wish you good health and prosperity, energy and confidence, good luck in teaching young people the tradition of faithful service to the Fatherland.
Happy Holidays!
Sincerely, Rector Takir Balykbayev
