The peoples of Central Asia and the South Caucasus have many things in common

On May 28, at 10:00, a professor-researcher M.B. Assanbayev of the Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines of the Institute of History and Law held an online seminar « Construction of a trans-regional cultural and historical space for Central Asia and the South Caucasus» using the ZOOM platform. The event was attended by teachers of the department, master`s and PhD doctoral students.

At the seminar the model of transregional cultural-historical space was constructed by accomodation of two regions into a common historical and socio-cultural space, with a new political and social reality.The content of transregional identity as a constructed phenomenon was conceptualized, and the findings were applied to develop the idea of a community of states and peoples of Central Asia and the South Caucasus (the states of the Trans-Caspian transport corridor).

In the final part of the seminar it was noted that despite the differences in the civilizational identity of the peoples living on both sides of the Caspian Sea, there is still a common value layer between them, which allows constructing a new socio-political reality and a viable social space for future generations to perceive the new transregional community of Central Asia and the South Caucasus.
