Implementation of the SDGs at Abai University

On September 29, 2021, the UNESCO Department of Educational Science and teacher training of Abai University organized an online webinar on «Implementation of sustainable development goals in universities».

The event was opened by Kulsarieva Akolkyn, Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and Internationalization, Digitalization, who stressed the importance of measures to implement the Sustainable Development Goals at the state level and noted the tasks outlined by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the Address on September 1, 2021. She also highlighted the key issues raised by the President at the 76th session of the UN.

In turn, Nurlanov Chingiz, Vice-Rector for Social Development and Buribaev Ermek, Vice-Rector for Research touched upon topical issues related to the theme of the webinar.

Tanabayeva Anar, head of the UNESCO Department of Educational Science and teacher training provided information on the importance of implementing sustainable development goals at the university and the organization of events.

At the online seminar, the directors of the institutes told about the current and planned activities related to the 17 goals of sustainable development.

At the end of the event, participants noted the importance of education in ensuring peace and prosperity for all people and decided to contribute to causes.
