Meeting of students and teachers of Abai KazNPU with representatives of the «Bazhov» Charity Fund


Within the framework of the project «Bazhov in Kazakhstan» on November 13, 2021, at Abai KazNPU, a meeting with representatives of the «BAZHOV» Charity Fund (Yekaterinburg, Russia) was held with the participation of students and teachers.


The goal of this project is to popularize the creative and cultural heritage of the famous Russian writer P.P. Bazhov among children and youth, restore historical memory and expand bilateral cooperation with cultural and educational institutions of RK.


Acting Director of the Department of International Cooperation of Abai KazNPU Assel Mais made an introductory speech. On behalf of the Rector Darkhan Bilyalov and other university leaders, he congratulated the delegation from Yekaterinburg and expressed confidence that the meeting will further strengthen cultural ties between Russia and Kazakhstan.


Sergey Polyganov, Chairman of the Council of the «Bazhov» Charity Fund, thanked the university administration for organizing the meeting. He noted the steady interest of Kazakhstan in Russian literature especially the interest in the works of such an outstanding writer as Pavel Bazhov, he also noted the high scientific and pedagogical level of teachers and students of our country. The Chairman of the Yekaterinburg public organization «Children`s Order of Mercy» Marina Cherkasova presented to the audience a unique bilingual edition of Bazhov`s tale «Silver Hoof» in Russian and Kazakh languages which was prepared within the framework of the «Bazhov in Kazakhstan» project. She said that the book was published in Russian and Kazakh languages, and also provided with illustrations by Russian and Kazakh artists. Anna Trakhtenberg made a report «Pavel Petrovich Bazhov: Writer and Humanist», where she covered in detail his life and work. She also gave an excursion to the history of the life and work of the writer and humanist Pavel Bazhov. Alexander Fedosov, head of the P. Bazhov`s Heritage Museum, presented a video review of the Malachite Box Folk Museum where you can meet the most famous heroes of Pavel Bazhov`s tales: Danila the master and the girl Sinyushka, with Darenka and Kokovanya, with her Majesty the Mistress of Copper Mountain, Ognevushka, and others.

 

Sergey Polyganov summed up all the speeches, noting that in the works of Pavel Bazhov, respect for a person of labor and dedication to the chosen cause are revealed. He also noted that these values are relevant now more than ever, and therefore Bazhov`s work remains in demand today.


Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature Saule Abisheva spoke on behalf of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education. She noted that the works of Pavel Petrovich Bazhov are well known to the older generation, which grew up on his tales, and now it is very important to preserve and pass on love for his work to future generation.


At the end of the meeting, methodological and educational literature from the Ural State Pedagogical University, as well as the bilingual edition of The Silver Hoof from the «Bazhov» Fund and the book «The Way to Tales» by Vladimir Ushakov, which presents a monographic study of the life of Pavel Bazhov, was presented to Abai KazNPU.
