Study tour of students at the A.B. Bekturov Research Institute of Chemical Sciences

On November 22, 2021, a study tour was organized at the A.B. Bekturov Research Institute of Chemical Sciences for 2nd year students in the specialty «6В05301-Chemistry» of the Institute of Natural Science and Geography. The event was held by an employee of the Marketing Department of the Institute Dyusembayeva Gulnur.

The purpose of the excursion is to increase interest in research work among students and develop cooperation with a research institute.

Responsible specialist for technical safety of the A.B. Bekturov Research Institute of Chemical Sciences Yerlan Dzhakhmetov acquainted students with the rules of working with chemicals and various other substances. During the excursion, the head of the laboratory, senior researcher Ruslan Kondaurov introduced the history of the institute. Junior Researcher at the Laboratory of Synthesis and Physical Chemistry of Polymers, Huangul Khimersen, spoke about how spectral analysis is determined, about methods of conducting research on polymers. Engineers of the laboratory «Synthetic and Natural Medicines» Elmira Ergalieva and Ayazhan Kurmangaliyeva explained the progress of the research work, methods of setting up the synthesis, showed thin layer chromatography, IR spectroscopy and other scientific equipment.

Students showed interest and expressed a desire to pursue science in the future. The meeting was held at a high level, the students were very interested, they expressed their gratitude to the staff of the institute.
