Open Day of the Psychology specialty

On 13 Febuary, 2020, General and Applied Psychology Department the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology held an Open Day of the Psychology specialty in order to provide career guidance information to pupils in grades 10 and 11 of schools in Almaty.

Doctor of Psychological Sciences, professor Olga Tapalova delivered a greeting and emphasized the relevance of the Psychology specialty in the fields of education, law, military affairs, healthcare, corporate governance, labor and employment. She also noted the peculiarities of teaching psychology at the university.

A multimedia presentation was presented in the specialty, as well as the opportunity to get acquainted with classrooms and laboratories, visually evaluate the learning environment.

During the meeting the candidate of psychological sciences Zaure Karakulova conducted various trainings with undergraduate and graduate students of psychology.

So, a 3rd year student Aaruzhan Davletova made a presentation and shared her experience of studying under the academic mobility program at Heidelberg University (Germany).

A military psychologist from training center of the Military Unit 20/27 and also graduate student of the Psychology specialty of Abai KazNPU Madi Balanbaev told about interesting aspects of military psychologist profession and answered for interesting questions of students.

The senior teacher of the department and Master of Psychology Diana Ordagulova, who is responsible for career guidance at the department, introduced the applicants about the rules for admission to Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, which includes a list of documents required for admission, deadlines for submitting applications to the entrance exams, threshold points, and provided detailed information about employment opportunities. Also she answered to all questions of applicants.

The informal part of the program was in the form of concert numbers performed by students of the specialty «Psychology».
