My profession is a teacher

On November 14, the results of the VII International Essay Competition «My profession is a teacher» were summed up. This year the competition has expanded the range of participants. First-year students of the specialties «Primary Education», «Preschool Education», «Special Pedagogy», «Pedagogy and Psychology» were invited to participate in the competition.

The purpose of the competition: to identify the professional abilities of students, create conditions for the disclosure of their talents, professional pedagogical and creative potential as well as self-realization.

Each student in his essay told what influenced the choice of the teaching profession, how he sees himself in the future. All participants noted the importance of the teaching profession today, described the qualities that a modern teacher should have. In many works there were words that the choice of profession was influenced by the first teacher whom the participants met at school. Each essay shows the awareness of the choice of pedagogical activity.

The jury members evaluated 76 essays. These were the works of students of the Altai State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University named after V. Shukshin, Perm State Humanitarian and Pedagogical University, Karaganda University named after E.A. Buketov, Yanka Kupala University of Grodno, Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk (Poland), Samara State Social and Pedagogical University, College at Osh State Pedagogical University, Kazan Federal University, as well as our university.

The jury members had sophisticated task to determine the winners. After all, each essay is an ajar door into the life and fate of a student who has embarked on the path of a primary school teacher. It was significant to see the feelings and hopes of competition participants behind the words of a short essay, to appreciate them at their true worth.

Congratulations to all students participating in the competition! All received diplomas and certificates!

It should be noted that many members of the jury were students of our university in the past. Through student competitions, we keep in touch with our graduates, we try to solve an urgent problem - the succession in education.

Based on the results of the competition, it is planned to publish a collection of essays in electronic form.
