Storytelling in Education as a teacher`s tool in interactive student learning

On April 08, 2024, the Department of Pedagogy of Abai University held a Republican scientific and methodological online seminar "Storytelling in education as a teacher`s tool in interactive student learning" within the framework of the Decade of Science.

The welcoming speech was delivered by PhD, Associate Professor, Director of the Institute of Psychology and Pedagogy Abayeva G.A. Revealed the need to apply innovative teaching methods in the educational process. She actualized the importance of holding a Decade of Science, the active participation of teachers and students for their professional growth.

Sh.Zh. Columbayeva, Head of the Department of Pedagogy, PhD, Associate Professor, Professor of Abai KazNPU, welcomed the participants of the Decade of Science, focused on the participation of teachers of the department in organizing and conducting a series of events dedicated to the development of professional competence within the decade. All events are very interesting and practice-oriented.

The speaker of the republican online seminar was Ph.D., senior lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy Tanatova A.D. In the report, Tanatova A.D. focused the attention of participants on the need for university teachers to use various types of storytelling, activating the educational and cognitive activities of students in the classroom and developing their communicative ability. The seminar revealed the advantages of storytelling in solving educational problems, issues of youth safety and their successful socialization.

The online seminar was held with the coverage of more than 35 people. The seminar was attended by the teaching staff from different higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan: Korkyt ata Kyzylorda University, Karaganda State University named after academician E.A.Buketov, O.Zhanibekov South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University, A.Margulan Pavlodar Pedagogical University. The speakers were Ph.D., Professor Zhampeisova K.K., Ph.D., Professor Kunakova K.U., Ph.D., Associate Professor Zhumasheva S.S.

The seminar participants expressed gratitude to the head of the Department of Pedagogy of KazNPU named after Abai Columbayeva Sh.Zh. for organizing and holding a republican online seminar on an urgent topic.
