Scientific and practical conference «Psychological portrait of autodestructive behavior of a teenager: theory and practice»

On November 1, 2024, the scientific and practical conference «Psychological portrait of autodestructive behavior of a teenager: theory and practice» was held at the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. The conference was organized by the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai, the Department of Education of the city of Almaty, the City Scientific and Methodological Center for New Technologies in Education.

The scientific and practical conference was attended offline by representatives of the Department of Education, specialists of the Mental Health Center, university scientists, faculty of the Department of General and Applied Psychology of Abai KazNPU, undergraduates and doctoral students of the department, representatives of regional scientific institutes, heads of district departments of education, online about 70 school psychologists and school principals, 87 deputy school principals for educational work.

The scientific and practical conference was devoted to topical issues of modern society, in particular, the creation of a favorable educational environment in the system of secondary and higher education, consideration of methods and ways to prevent and prevent suicidal tendencies in children and adolescents, medical aspects of suicidal behavior, etc.

The vice-rector for Academic Affairs of Abai KazNPU, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Narbekova Banu Mukataevna made a welcoming speech at the scientific and practical conference. Vice-Rector for Social Development, Master of Social Sciences of KazNPU named after Abai Zhakauov Maksat Donesovich made a report «Organization of a favorable educational environment in the system of secondary and higher education» and highlighted the importance and necessity of considering this problem.

Also, the dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Abayeva Galiya Askerbekovna made an introductory speech. In her speech, Galiya Askerbekovna Abayeva stressed the importance of the work of school psychologists and school leaders in the prevention of autodestructive behavior of adolescent children.

The scientific and practical conference featured presentations by many scientists, specialists in the field of psychology, medicine, psychiatry, representatives of education departments, in particular:

1. Dzholdygulov Gali Abdulgazizovich, a psychiatrist at the Center for Psychotherapy, Candidate of Medical Sciences, who made a presentation on «Clinical aspects of suicidal behavior of adolescents»;

2. Gulmira Tuyakovna Topanova, Leader of the educational program of the Department of Psychology, Kazakh National Women`s Pedagogical University on the topic «Features of psychological counseling for adolescents aged 12-16 years»;

3. Gulmira Bekenovna Nietbaeva, Head of the Department of General and Applied Psychology of Abai KazNPU, PhD, Acting Associate Professor «Actual problems of training psychologists in the field of autodestructive behavior of students»;

4. Maryam Kakharmanovna Taipova, Head of the Department of Psychological and Pedagogical Diagnostics, National Scientific and Practical Institute of Child Welfare «Orken», Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences «Diagnostics of the specifics and prevalence of bullying and a psychologically safe educational environment»;

5. Sadvakasova Zukhra Maratovna, Deputy Head for Scientific and Innovative work and International Relations of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, Acting Professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on the topic «Modern approaches to work with autodestructive human behavior»;

6. Karimova Raushan Beidalievna, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, psychoneurologist, psychologist-practitioner on the topic «Medical and psychological aspects of suicidal behavior in children and adolescents»;

7. Kuanyshbekova Yerkezhan Kairatovna, project manager Automated system of psychological and pedagogical monitoring (ASPPM) «HR+» Karaganda (online);

8. Begalieva Nurgul Useynovna, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, senior lecturer at the Department of General and Applied Psychology of Abai KazNPU on the topic «Prevention of auto-destructive behavior in children and adolescents».

The scientific and practical conference highlighted the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in working with adolescents who exhibit autodestructive behavior. Effective prevention requires the joint efforts of psychologists, educators, parents and social workers. At the end of the conference, a resolution was adopted by all participants of the conference and serves as the basis for further scientific research and practical activities in the field of psychoprophylaxis of adolescent autodestructive behavior.
