Lesson Study: Professional Development Course on Integration into Students` Graduation Projects At the Education Management School Center of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, a professional development course titled `Lesson Study Methodology: Integration into the Professional Practice of Higher Education Institutions through Students` Graduation Projects` is being held from November 19 to 28. Among the participants of the course are lecturers from our department, Candidates of Historical Sciences S.K. Tulbasieva and G.U. Rasheva. The course is delivered by Clea Fernandez, an independent consultant and expert with one of the most authoritative international organizations- the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). During the course, participants became thoroughly acquainted with the theoretical foundations of the Lesson Study methodology, ways of implementing it in higher education, as well as mechanisms for integrating it into students` graduation projects. In the practical part, instructors work in small groups to practice planning, conducting, and analyzing research lessons, examining the methodology`s impact on improving students` learning outcomes. S.K. Tulbassieva and G.U. Rasheva are actively participating in all course modules, enhancing their skills in designing Lesson Study cycles within their subject areas. The final tasks and training sessions help participants develop competencies for effectively applying innovative pedagogical methods in their professional practice.
Upon completion of the course, participants will be awarded officially recognized 72-hour professional development certificates.
