Foundation Project (from Asia): «The impact of the transition to a peaceful regime on the security of the Korean Peninsula»

On February 10, 2022, the Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Disciplines of the Institute of History and Law held a lecture session on the Eurasia Foundation (from Asia) project. The lecture was conducted by an anthropologist, Professor Soon-ok Myong. The topic of the lecture: «The impact of the transition to a peaceful regime on the security of the Korean peninsula». During the lecture, the professor asked the audience what illusions you see at least in North Korea and South Korea. The doctoral students answered the question with great enthusiasm. Professor Soon-ok Myong further noted that the outcome of the war between North Korea and South Korea, which began in the 1950s, was economically and morally painful for both sides. Despite the fact that this war was stopped by the intervention of the UN, there have still been no peacekeeping contracts between the two countries, and security is also not full-fledged. Due to the lack of a treaty, the population of the peninsula was in danger.

Faculty members, students, and doctoral students were present in the auditorium. They posed questions to the expert and received appropriate answers.
