Round table «Pushkin and Abai»


On December 5, 2019, the Department of Philological Specialties for Foreign Citizens organized and held a round table dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the birth of Alexandr Pushkin and the 175th anniversary of the birth of Abay.


The guests of the round table gathering were: Irina Pereverzeva, Consul of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Almaty, Deputy head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Gulnara Karamendina, Director of «New school», Natalia Vdovina, Chairman of the Kazakhstan Association of teachers of Russian schools, Department of International Cooperation of Abai KazNPU and representatives of Korean and Chinese companies.


Students presented an interesting program about the great representatives of the Kazakh and Russian peoples: philosopher, educator, scientist Abai and Russian poet and writer Alexander Pushkin. Students staged an excerpt from «Tales of Tsar Saltan...» by A. S. Pushkin. They also presented an artistic reading of an excerpt from the novel by M. Auezov «the Path of Abai», reading in Kazakh «Tatyana`s Letter», in Russian «Oneginʹs Letter». Professors presented the accomplishments of the department. The guests were impressed by the performances of students from China, Korea, Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt, Philippines and Congo, who recited poems of great poets in Kazakh, Russian and native languages.


At the end of the event, an agreement was signed between the Department of philological specialties for foreign citizens and the UE «New school» on mutually beneficial cooperation.


Irina Pereverzeva invited students and teachers to present this program to the Russian Consulate on February 21, 2020, noting that such projects should be seen by as many people as possible.
