Republican student`s subject Olympiad on a specialty: 5В060900 - Geography

March 28 - 29, 2018 on the basis of the faculty of geography and nature management of Al-Farabi KazNU was held the Republican student`s subject Olympiad on a specialty 5В060900 - Geography.

10 teams from the leading universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the Olympiad: Abai KazNPU (Altyn kopir), Al-Farabi KazNU (Geozhol, Zemlyane), Gumilev ENU (Zhakyran Zhibek Zholy, Terra, Kultegin), KazSWTTU (Zhassyl energuetika, Aitumar), Utemisov WSU (Ak-Zhaiyk), Toraigyrov PSU (Geostar ).

The Republican subject Olympiad was held in 3 rounds. The first round of «Dialogue» - the presentation of the team, the second round «Cognition» - test and practical tasks, the third round «Vzglyad» - an independent work on the topic: «The New Economic Belt of the Silk Road: Opportunities and Risks».

In this Olympiad the team «Altyn kopir» was represented by 3 students of 1 and 3 courses of specialty 5В060900 - Geography. The members of the university`s team were: Darina Erlan, Zhuldyz Zhanbyrova, Nazerke Ramankul, the team`s scientific leader is the candidate of geographical sciences, the associate professor of the department of geography and tourism of the Institute of Natural History and Geography Dina Borankulova.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the team of Abai KazNPU «Altyn kopir» was awarded a diploma of the third degree, in the individual competition the third year student Darina Erlan took 3rd place and was awarded a diploma of the third degree.
