"Actual problems of teaching Russian language and literature at school and university" Republican seminar


The Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU held a republican seminar with international participation named as "Actual problems of teaching Russian language and literature at school and university" on April 3, 2024 within the framework of the Decade of Science. 220 teachers of Russian language and literature, methodologists from different parts of Kazakhstan became the listeners.


Seven reports were presented at the seminar, in which issues of modern methods of teaching Russian language and literature were raised.


Report by Gulmira Kazhigalieva, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU on the theme "The principle of humaneness and modern linguistic methodology" aroused genuine interest among listeners.


How can one reasonably combine the techniques of analytical and creative activity, and many other questions were raised in the speech of Sergey Fedorov, candidate of Pedagogy, Associate professor of the Department of Philological Education of St. Petersburg APPO (St. Petersburg Academy of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education named after K.D. Ushinsky) on the theme "New as forgotten old, or what is needed today in the methodology of teaching literature?".


"Project and research: similarities and differences" is the topic of a speech by scientists of Penza State University Galina Prantsova, candidate of Pedagogy, Professor of the Department of Literature and Methods of Teaching Literature and Anna Timakova, candidate of Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Literature and Methods of Teaching Literature.


Elena Zhindeeva, Doctor of Philology, Professor of M.E. Evseviev Mordovian State University, shared how reading can be managed as an effective way to form the literary competence of students.


A wide range of theoretical issues related to the speech development of bilingual children was touched upon in the speech of Madina Abayeva, candidate of Philology, Head of the department of the section "Psycholinguistics" of  A. Baitursynov Institute of Linguistics.  The features of modern textbooks with updated educational content in the speeches were discussed in the reports of Aizhan Nusupbekova, PhD, teacher of Russian language and literature at Gymnasium №12 and Marina Assylbekova, candidate of Philology, teacher of Russian language and literature at Specialized Lyceum №165.


Dina Sabirova, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU, told the audience in detail about the Internet literature of Kazakhstan.


At the end of the seminar, Saule Abisheva, Doctor of Philology, Head of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of Abai KazNPU expressed gratitude for the organization and high level of the seminar.
