Professional holiday of Psychologists day

On 25 December, 2019, the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology celebrated the professional holiday of Psychologists day, aimed to the 20th anniversary from the opening of the Psychology specialty at the Abai Kazakh NPU.

The director of the Pedagogy and Psychology Institute, professor Berikzhan Almukhambetov, delivered a greeting and emphasized the demand of Psychologists profession which is actively developing in the modern world. He noted that the teaching staff of General and Applied Psychology Department under the guiedness of doctor of psychological sciences Akmaral Satova approached the anniversary with high achievements. So, in 2019, the Psychology specialty passed an international accreditation, took the 2nd place in the Atameken rating among the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 9th place in the rating of Abai KazNPU and 2nd place at the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.

A pleasant surprise was the video congratulations from the director of the Vygotsky Institute of Psychology - Vitaliy Shabelnikov, managing chair of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, professor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University - Zabira Madalieva and associate professor of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography - Balabek Saktaganov.

Students and undergraduates under the guidance of teachers Manshuk Kurmanbekova prepared a gala concert. The concert program included psychological dramatization, a quiz, KVN, a flash mob, as well as music and dancing which gathered a squall of applause.

Graduates of the Psychology specialty expressed their thankfulness to teachers, and among them are head of the Mediation Center of the International Human Rights Center - Aigerym Baysakova, the teacher of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University - Beibit Ayazbaeva, the psychologist of the Youth Policy Center - Aknur Tauekel and the psychologist of Nazarbayev Intellectual School - Balgyn Serikbayeva. Also, the pupils of graduation classes of schools in Almaty were invited to the event.
