Training on psychological adaptation of 1st year students

On November 3, 2023 senior lecturer of the Department of General and Applied Psychology of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai KazNPU Tolkyn Ingaybekova and Madina Sarmoldaeva, a 4th year student of the speciality "6B03111-Training of Practical Psychologist" conducted adaptation training for 1st year students. The event was held in the fresh air - in the park of 28 Panfilov Guardsmen.

Entering the university and the process of studying in it are always connected with the integration of first-year students into a new cultural and educational environment. It is from this moment that social adaptation begins, and the success and effectiveness of further studies will largely depend on it. In order to create a positive microclimate in student groups, the training was held in a game form.

In the course of the training, the exercises "Fruit", "Drawing together", "Relay race of feelings", "Blind figures" were conducted. They allowed students to work in teams, create a favourable atmosphere within them and show the strengths of interpersonal communication. The exercises stimulate the development of mutual trust among the participants, develop the ability to relax, release tension and create an opportunity for tactile contact.

Students who took part in this training noted that it was an interesting experience of acquaintance and interaction for them, and the event itself influenced the general mood in the group and had a positive impact on communication with each other.
