Practical seminar «From Stress to Calm: Practices for Restoring Inner Balance»

On December 23, 2024, representatives of our department, including Associate Professor, Doctor of Psychological Sciences Olga Tapalova and first-year doctoral student, non-medical psychotherapist specializing in existential analysis, logotherapy, body-oriented psychotherapy, and trauma therapy, Nurgul Suyundykova, conducted a practical seminar titled «From Stress to Calm: Practices for Restoring Inner Balance» for the faculty of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University. This seminar was held in collaboration with the Psychological Support Center.

The seminar`s main objective was to help participants understand the mechanisms of stress management and discover resources for recovery on physical, mental, and cognitive levels. Participants were introduced to modern psychotechnologies aimed at overcoming stress, enhancing self-reliance, and fostering self-regulation skills.

The seminar was divided into two parts. The first part provided a theoretical foundation, offering insights into human behavior under stress and the biological and psychological changes that accompany it. The second part was dedicated to practical exercises, focusing on body-oriented techniques designed to alleviate tension and restore inner balance.

The event proved to be highly effective: participants not only gained valuable theoretical knowledge but also acquired practical skills for managing stress in their personal and professional lives. They learned to utilize body-oriented practices and self-regulation methods to address tension, enabling them to achieve balance on physical, mental, and emotional levels. Faculty members expressed their gratitude to the organizers and emphasized the importance of such seminars being held regularly. These sessions are not only essential for professional development but also contribute to strengthening psychological resilience and improving overall well-being.
