Faculty of geography and environmental sciences of al-Farabi KazNU from 29 to 31 March, 2017 was held the Republican student subject Olympiad of the specialty "5В060900-Geography" . In the olympiad teams from the universities of Kazakhstan participated: al-Farabi KazNU, Abai KazNPU , L.N. Gumilyov ENU , Kazakh State Women`s Teacher Training University , M.H. Dulati TarSU. According to the results of the Olympiad the team of Abai KazNPU "Khan Taniri" was awarded with a diploma of the 2nd degree, and in the individual competition the student of Moldir Alіmbayeva received the diploma of the 3rd degree and Elkhan Mirzayev received the diploma of the 2nd degree.
Republican subject Olympiad was held in 3 rounds. The first round of "Dialogue" - the presentation of the team, the second round "Cognition" - test and practical tasks, the third round "View". In the olympiad the team "Khan Taniri", which consisted of the students of the third year of the department of "Country studies and tourism" of the Institute of Natural History and Geography, took part in the Olympiad in the specialty "5В060900-Geography". The following students were members of the team: Aigerim Akbayeva, Moldir Alіmbayeva, Elkhan Mirzayev and academic supervisor: senior teacher, master of geography - R. T. Iskakova.А.
