Meeting with representatives of Mikolas Romeris University (Lithuania)

 

On June 30, 2021, the Department for International Cooperation of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, in the framework of implementation of the objectives of the Strategy for Internationalization, organized through the platform Zoom online meeting with representatives of Mykolas Romeris University (Lithuania) consisting of Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Odeta Merfeldaite, Head of the Institute of Education and Social Work, Professor Valdone Indrasiene, Associate Dean for International Relations and Projects, Associate Professor Jolanta Pivoriene, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Linas Selmistraitis, head of research quality and analysis department of the Research and Innovation Center, professor Agata Katkonienė, and head of the Continuing Education Laboratory, professor Irena Zemaitaityte.


The delegation of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University was represented by: Director of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Galiya Abayeva, Director of the International Cooperation Department Marzhan Tadzhiyeva, and Head of Educational Programs «Pedagogy and Psychology» Aigerim Kosherbayeva, Head of professional training «Special Pedagogy» Satova Akmaral, leading specialist of the International Cooperation Department Gulnara Dzhangirova.


During the meeting, a delegation from Mykolas Romeris University gave a presentation about the university. Mikolas Romiris University is the leading university in social sciences and interdisciplinary studies in Lithuania. The University consists of: 4 faculties, the Mikolas Romeris School of Law and the Academy of Public Safety. The University offers more than 90 programs at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels in Lithuanian and English. Studies are conducted in accordance with the basic principles of the Bologna Process. The main fields of study are business, communication, economics, finance, history, management, computer science, law, philology, philosophy, political science, psychology, public administration, public security, social work and sociology. In addition, participants discussed opportunities for further development of cooperation between the universities, discussing issues of double degree programs, conducting joint research and projects, as well as writing joint publications.
