About the Department of International Law
The Department of International Law was organized in 1993, is currently a structural subdivision of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute since 2014, and conducts educational activities in Kazakh, Russian and French languages.
Since 2018 academic year the chair is headed by Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sabikenov S.N.
The Department of International Law cooperates with the leading universities of France University of Lorraine, University of Poitiers, University of Strasbourg, «Universite Sorbonne Paris Cite» (France),
Training is carried out by Kazakhstani as well as guest foreign lecturers of the University of Lorraine (France).
Accreditation of the educational program
International specialized accreditation of the educational program 6В04205 - International Law, was held in 2023. Accreditation period: 22.06.2023-21.06.2028.

Masters in educational programs: - 7M04205 - International Law (academic and pedagogical direction) - 7M04209 - International Law (Academic and Pedagogical trend) Purpose of the educational program
Preparation of the lawyer in the field of international law, having modern subject, communicative, digital, business competences, high level of legal culture and legal consciousness, capable of professional application of legal acts and solving complex problems.

The Department trains highly qualified international lawyers with knowledge of foreign languages (French and English). For the 1st year students the possibility of living in a dormitory is provided. There is a good material and technical base for training: language laboratories, multimedia classrooms, computer labs, Internet, distance learning. Fields of professional activity of the graduates: - protection of rights and interests of the state, individuals and legal entities in the Republic of Kazakhstan and abroad; - legal regulation of legal relations; - Legal support of foreign policy and foreign economic activity of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
