A Turkish scholar lectured future historians


On March 15, 2024, Professor Abdullah Gündoğdu, a renowned Turkish scholar from Ankara University, delivered a lecture on "History of the Golden Horde Period" to students and educators at the History and Law Institute of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University in Almaty. Professor Abdullah Gündoğdu is the author of numerous scientific works on the history and culture of Kazakhstan, including archaeology. The main focus of his scientific research is on the history of Kazakhstan in the Middle Ages and the history of Turkic-Mongol tribes. During the lecture, significant historical sources related to the Golden Horde were discussed, shedding light on their historical context. Works such as "Jami al-Tawarikh," "Tarikh-i Jahangushay," "Chingiz-Name," and "Shaybani-Name" were referenced, providing valuable insights into the era. Furthermore, Professor Abdullah Gündoğdu shared intriguing information about the connections between the Golden Horde and the Chagatai Khanate, the Ilkhanate in Iran, and the Yuan Dynasty in China.
