Kazakh-French Forum «Development Strategy of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU» 

On 5 October, in honor of the 90th anniversary of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, a Kazakh-French forum was held: «Development Strategy of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU».

The main goal of the event is to increase the prestige of education at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, improve the institute`s management system, ensure the highest quality training of specialists, develop strategic development directions to increase the effectiveness of the institute, and exchange experience with foreign universities.

The event was attended by Rector of the University Takir Balykbayev, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the French Republic Philippe Martiné, attache attache for university cooperation of the Consulate General of France in Almaty Gilles Mamets, Representatives of the Embassy of the French Republic, scientific community, government agencies; Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute partners; Rectors and officials from a number of French universities - Sorbonne Paris City, Paris VII named after Denis Diderot, Bordeaux, Poitiers, Strasbourg, Toulouse; teching staff of the Sorbonna-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU.

The rector Takir Balykbayev, who made a report, told the forum participants and French partners about the achievements of Abai KazNPU and the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, about the events held together with French partners: «The Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute is a very important project that was created in 2014 on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on the basis of cooperation between Abi Kazakh National Pedagogical University and the University of Sorbonne Paris City. For the comprehensive development of our university, we must work closely with leading scientific universities, centers and leading world-class academic experts».

The leaders of the universities of France, welcoming the participants of the forum, acquainted them in their speeches with the most interesting projects for international cooperation, and in particular with ideas and proposals for the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU.

Within the framework of the forum, a solemn ceremony was held to present the honorary guests of the forum with jubilee awards in honor of the 90th anniversary of Abai KazNPU.

At the end of the Kazakh-French forum, the guests from France congratulated the rector Takir Balykbayev and the staff of KazNPU on the anniversary. They handed congratulatory addresses and gifts from their universities.

According to the results of the forum, memorandums were signed with 8 partner universities.
