«Night of Ideas» at the Sorbonna-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU
Cultural and educational event «Night of Ideas» was held at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU on the last day of January. It was moderated by the rector of KazNPU Takir Balykbayev, Director of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, Professor Ainur Sabitova and Attache of the French Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan Gilles Mametz.
A well-known worldwide event dedicated to the development of modern thought and the international exchange of ideas, the «Night of Ideas» annually gathers intellectuals, scientists, artists and public figures. Participants can exchange views on the topic of discussion, ask questions and share innovative technologies. More than a hundred educational, scientific and cultural centers around the world have provided this time their platforms for the simultaneous discussion of various ideas.
The «Night of Ideas» was opened by the Rector of the University, Professor Takir Balykbayev, On the first platform, the following persons delivered greetings to the youth: General Consul of the French Republic in Almaty Mr. Alexis Shakhtakhtinsky, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurinov, Chairman of the Civil and Administrative Cases Board of the Almaty City Court Bakhyt Kaseinov, Vice-President of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry Christophe Pélisson, rector of KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov, doctor of medical sciences, professor Talgat Nurgozhin, Rector of the Kazakh-Russian Medical University, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Nurlan Jainakbayev, vice president of the clinic of Central Clinical Hospital JSC Sholpan Ayupova.
Among the honored guests at the event were: the First Vice-Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Mukhambetkali Burkitbayev, Vice-Rector of the Kazakh-British Technical University, Professor Maratbek Gabdullin, General Director of the France-Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Munira Artykbekova, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Entrepreneurship Development Fund Damu JSC Samat Zhanabay, Vice-Rector of D.A.Kunaev Eurasian Law Academy Gulnara Alibayeva, Dean of the Law Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Daulet Baideldinov, Vice-Rectors, Directors of Institutes and Departments of Abai KazNPU.
Students and undergraduates who defended their projects in French were selected to participate in the discussion «Modern Breakthrough Today».
Birzhan Zhantuarov, Director of the Certification Association «Russian Registe» in Kazakhstan, presented the certificate «Quality Confirmed» at the «Night of Ideas» event to the management of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute.
At the international event «Night of Ideas» a photo exhibition of young artists «Unknown Kazakhstan» was held, presented by the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - a partner of the Sorbonne Institute-Kazakhstan; The music of the State woodwind quintet sounded.
The exhibition «Min boiauly uly dala» of the winner of the State Prize «Daryn», a member of the Artists` Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan, associate professor of art education at the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of KazNPU, Nurlan Kilibayev, caused great interest among the audience.
It must be said that the teachers and students of this institute made an especially great contribution to the organization and holding of the «Night of Ideas». The students prepared an exposition of applied art products; the orchestra of the Kazakh folk instruments of the Institute made a concert program; the associate professor of Design Department, Raushan Kanapyanova, organized a fashion show (Shanyrak and Zher Ana collections); a film was shown in French.
The international event «Night of Ideas» was organized by: Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports of KazNPU; The Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute with the active assistance of the French Embassy in Kazakhstan and the French Institute for Central Asian Studies.
