Rector`s meeting in the «Open space» format

On March 18, at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, at the initiative of the rector Takir Balykbayev, a meeting was held for the first time on the project «Personal meeting with the rector» - «Open space».

The «Open space» format means the discussion of any issues that have individual or social significance, and their solution with responsible persons. Therefore, at this meeting, students and their parents shared their current problems and wishes.

The first vice-rector of the university, Maktagali Bektemesov, advisor to the rector Kanybek Kaldybaev, director of the department of academic issues Khairulla Zhanbekov, director of the department of science Sayabek Sakhiyev and heads of other departments attended the meeting.

During the meeting, a number of issues were raised on family issues, living conditions and tuition fees, transition from one specialty to another, improving living conditions in dormitories and the learning process. Heads of departments answered questions related to them. The rector listened to the visitors and reviewed the applications, tried to satisfy the wishes of the applicants.

Students and parents who came to meet with the rector were satisfied with the decisions and returned in a good mood. There were several issues that were not immediately resolved. Therefore, the head of the university has compiled them, analyzed and gave instructions to the relevant structural units. Each of them was instructed to inform the rector about how the problem was solved.
