Religion and interethnic concord in a secular state

 

   

 

In order to increase religious literacy and warn young people from the influence of destructive religious movements, to prevent the spread of extremism and terrorism, from February 24 to 29, 2020, Abai KazNPU hosted the week «Religion and Interethnic harmony in a Secular State».


The event started with a round table in which a religious scholar, an employee of the Anti-Terrorism Training Center of the Academy of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Shomanov took part.


The vice-rector for educational work and social development of the University Zhanatbek Ishpekbayev opened the week, he noted the importance and significance of preventive measures to prevent and prevent the facts of religious extremism.


Further, the floor was given to Bolat Shomanov. He made a substantive report on the topic «Religion and interethnic harmony in a secular state».


The head of the Department of Political Science and Socio-Philosophical Sciences of the Institute of History and Law, Professor Zhomart Simtikov made a report «Interethnic harmony as a Way to Civilization», outlining the basic principles of interethnic harmony and civilization in modern society.


Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists Ruslan Seitkaziev in his report «Islam in Kazakhstan: Problems and Solutions» spoke about measures to prevent the spread of destructive religious movements.


During the meeting, the speakers answered all students` questions of interest regarding the situation with manifestations of religious extremism and terrorism among young people, and measures to counter such contemporary challenges.
