Abai University has risen to 50 positions in the ranking of the best universities in the world

On June 9, 2021, a new global ranking of universities QS World University Rankings-2022 was published. This study was carried out by the British consulting company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). According to the results of this rating, Abai university occupied 551-560 places and compared to last year, our university rose by 50 positions. It was ranked 601-650 last year.

When compiling the ranking, the QS team analyzed data from more than 1673 universities from 93 countries around the world. The rating includes 1300 universities. The ranking was carried out according to the following criteria:
- academic reputation (40%);
- the ratio of the teaching staff to the number of students (20%);
- reputation among employers (10%), citation index (20%);
- the share of foreign teachers (5%) and students (5%).

The evaluation criteria were based on the analysis of a large amount of data:
- the authors analyzed more than 14.7 million scientific publications;
- it was taken into account 96 million citations;
- interviewed more than 450 thousand employers;
- 2 million representatives of the academic community.

Abai University is the first pedagogical university in Kazakhstan and the CIS, included in the global list of the best universities in the world and annually occupies worthy places in the QS World University Rankings.

The QS rating itself was developed in 2004 together with the British edition of the Times Higher Education and it calculates using a special method, based on data on the achievements of higher educational institutions in the field of education and science.

Thus, our university is one step closer to its main goal -to become the leader of teacher education in the CIS by 2025, the workshop of teachers of the new formation, which is included in the TOP-400 QS WUR; TOP-200 of the subject rating "Education" QS WUR/THE WUR; TOP-400 Times Higher Education Impact Ranking.
