Open educational event «Raising Girls - Raising the Nation»

On November 30, 2021 at Abai KazNPU Institute of Natural History and Geography an open educational event «Raising Girls - Raising the Nation» was held, organized by the 1st year students of the specialty «6B05205-Ecology», led by the group adviser, senior teacher Indira Raymbekova.

Head of social and educational work of the Institute Manapov Nurlan made a welcoming speech, noting the importance of the event. «In the Kazakh people girls have a special place and their upbringing is based on national values. The people say: «a daughter is a guest», that`s why girls have always been given a lot of attention. In bringing up a girl, not only the mother but all the residents of the auls and towns were responsible», he said.

Students actively performed for the guests, reciting poems, singing songs and showing their thematic video clips. Special attention was given to the problems of raising modern girls, and the role of women in society and in the formation of the nation was discussed.

Gynaecologist Kuatzhanova Gulzhan was among the guests. She told about the problems girls may face in family life and urged students to think seriously about their health. Noting that girls and women usually go to a gynaecologist when the disease is neglected and treatment is already much more difficult, she recommended that they necessarily undergo a medical examination once every six months and promoted a healthy lifestyle and proper nutrition. The students, especially the female students, asked the expert their questions and received detailed answers.

At the end of the event, the Head of EP «Geography, Environment and Services», PhD Aliaskarov Duman, Associate Professor Tilekova Zhanna and Senior Lecturer Seylkhan Aynur spoke. Aliaskarov Duman noted that folk customs and traditions are the basis for upbringing of girls in Kazakh families and asked everyone to remember that today`s girls are tomorrow`s wives and mothers. The good upbringing of girls in the family is the foundation for the development of future generations. And this issue should become the most important one in society.
