Scientific Seminar for Second-Year Master`s and Fourth-Year Bachelor`s Students in the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology


In October 2025, the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University held a series of scientific seminars in online and offline formats on the topics ``Guidelines for the Preparation and Defense of Master`s Theses`` and ``Rules for Writing and Formatting Bachelor`s Theses and Projects.`` The main goal of the seminars was to provide comprehensive guidance for second-year master`s students on the preparation, formatting, and defense requirements of their dissertations, offer methodological recommendations for improving the quality of scientific research, and familiarize fourth-year students with the requirements for writing and formatting bachelor`s theses and projects.


The bachelor`s thesis represents the highest form of a student`s academic and research work, reflecting the level of professional training. Its primary purpose is to develop students` intellectual independence, deepen professional knowledge, and foster the ability to analyze creatively and apply acquired knowledge in practice.


Experienced scholars of the department delivered insightful presentations and shared their professional expertise. In particular, Doctors of Pedagogical Sciences, Professors N.N. Khan and A.N. Kosherbayeva, Associate Professor T.N. Zhundibayeva, as well as Masters of Pedagogical Sciences L.M. Sakhieva, K.Zh. Uteyeva, and S.B. Süleimen, provided valuable information on the structure, content, and formatting features of dissertations and theses. The seminars were organized and moderated by PhD, Associate Professor G.K. Kassymova, with the website news publication prepared by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences A.K.Kalimoldayeva.


Key speakers T.N. Zhundibayeva and L.M. Sakhieva gave detailed explanations of the structural requirements for master`s dissertations and bachelor`s projects. Master`s students were also introduced to the rules and content requirements for writing dissertation abstracts. During the seminar, K.Zh. Uteyeva offered practical recommendations on how to substantiate the relevance of research topics and explained post-defense procedures.


The event became an important step in fostering the academic culture of students and graduate students, enhancing the quality of research work, and improving their readiness for successful thesis defense.
