The main tasks
- High-quality training and assistance in conducting laboratory and practical classes, educational practices of students in disciplines;
- Carrying out scientific research of graduate students and applicants for a state budgetary educational institution of higher education, providing training, advanced training, consulting services in the field of agronomy to legal entities and (or) individuals;
- Implementation of innovative projects, programs, technologies for the training of highly qualified specialists into the practice of the educational process;
- Implementation of expert, advisory and educational activities in the areas of the Department of Plant Growing and Agriculture.

In order to accomplish the tasks at hand, the sector performs the following functions:
- on the existing production facilities and equipment, the sector prepares and assists in conducting laboratory and practical classes, educational practices of students in the disciplines of plant growing and agriculture, research work in accordance with agreements concluded by the University with third-party organizations, provides consulting services on the technology of cultivation of field , vegetable, fodder and flower crops;
- support of scientific contacts with related sectors in Kazakhstan and abroad;
- Creation of conditions for carrying out research work with students, postgraduates and faculty;
- annually develops work plans, prepares the established reporting on its activities, keeps records of the funds used;
- provides methodological assistance to students during internship and research and preparation of materials;
- ensures the proper technical condition of the equipment and equipment of the sector, conducts timely maintenance in accordance with the operating instructions.
