The history of the Department of "Economic Specialties" of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute dates back to 1993. The department has repeatedly undergone a nominal transformation and was named in 2016 due to the unification of economic departments. The Department of "Economic Specialties" provides training for bachelors, masters and PhD doctors in the group of educational programs B041-Business and Management (Economics, Management, Finance, Accounting and Audit, State and Local Management, Marketing). Currently, the department is successfully implementing a program of double-degree bachelor`s degree in EP 6B04101-Economics (Abai KazNPU) together with the University of Poitiers (France).
Human resources potential The staff of the department consists of highly professional employees. These days, the department is headed by M.A. Kanabekova, Ph.D. in Economics. Our department unites 2 Doctors of Economics, 3 PhD doctors and 9 candidates of Sciences, who make an invaluable contribution to the development of the intellectual and scientific potential of the country.
A number of teachers of the department were awarded medals "S.Altynsarin", "For merits in the development of science of the Republic of Kazakhstan" by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Letters of thanks from the Ambassador of France, "Algys Khat" from the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "Kurmetti ustaz" of Abai KazNPU, etc.
Educational and methodical work The curricula of the specialties prepared by the department have been accredited by agencies for assessing the quality of higher education and have proven their quality.
The personnel training process at the department is based on an organic combination of rich traditions of the national higher school and advanced foreign experience. As a result, students have the opportunity to get acquainted with the latest achievements of world economic thought in the field of economics, finance, accounting and management. There is a methodological seminar at the department, the coordinator of which is Ph.D. in Economics, senior lecturer Telagusova E.O. The methodological seminar functions in accordance with the approved plan.
