Abai University and the Department of Education of Zhetysu region signed a memorandum of cooperation

 

On March 14, 2024, the Chairman of the Board, Rector of KazNPU named after Abai Bolat Tlep, met with representatives of the Department of Education of the Zhetysu region. The meeting was attended by the head of the Department of Education of the Zhetysu region Marat Suleimenov, director of the Scientific and Practical Center for Physical Culture, Sports, Primary Military Training and Additional Education of the Department of Education of the Zhetysu region Aibol Kasenov, Vice-rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova, heads of departments for academic affairs and public relations of the university.

 

Bolat Tlep noted topical issues in the field of education and highlighted the activities aimed at strengthening ties between the university and the school. It was emphasized that within the framework of cooperation with the education departments of Almaty and Astana, ways have been identified to solve the problem of teacher shortage in secondary education organizations in cities and regions. Within the framework of the Comfortable School project, special attention is paid to the issues of providing new schools with teachers of a new formation, as well as the employment of graduates, professional development and retraining of teaching staff. The Rector noted that Abai University attaches great importance to the quality of professional training, as well as the provision of qualified personnel in the education sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. And in this direction, the high potential of the teaching staff of the country`s leading pedagogical university is involved.

 

During the meeting, issues of teacher shortage in schools of Zhetysu region, especially the Russian language, mathematics, and computer science, as well as improving the quality of education and qualifications of specialists working with children with special educational needs, advanced training and retraining of school management and teaching staff were discussed.
