Abai University and Ohio State University Establish Collaboration in Education and Research

Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University hosted a landmark meeting with Ohio State University to strengthen ties in education and research through student and faculty exchanges. The meeting marked a significant step towards fostering academic cooperation between the two esteemed institutions.

The meeting was attended by PhD Don Pope-Davis, Dean of the College of Education and Human Ecology at The Ohio State University, as well as Professor Daniel Palm, Senior Advisor for International Affairs at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Banu Narbekova, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Internationalization Aigul Iskakova, Director of the Department of International Cooperation Bayan Sapargalieva and employees of the international department.

Discussions focused on initiatives aimed at facilitating the exchange of students and faculty to enhance skills and expand opportunities in research. Through exchanges, students and faculty from both universities will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a research environment, promoting intercultural understanding and academic excellence.

A key highlight of the meeting was the idea of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) outlining the framework for future collaborations. The MoU paves the way for joint research projects, academic programs, and other collaborative endeavors aimed at advancing knowledge and innovation in various fields.

In addition to student and faculty exchanges, the meeting also focused on Abai University`s faculty researches venturing to Ohio State University for scientific internships. These internships, supported by the government`s Bolashak 500 Scholars Scholarship Program, will provide invaluable opportunities for faculty to engage in cutting-edge research, share experiences, and contribute to global scientific advances.

At the end of the meeting, both sides expressed their commitment to implement the partnership. In their collaboration, Abai University and Ohio State University are ready to make a significant contribution to the development of education, training of qualified teachers, science and global cooperation.
