ChatGPT as an Auxiliary Educational Platform

 

On the eve of the science decade involving first-yearstudents of the Natural Sciences and Geography Institute of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, a methodological seminar on the topic "ChatGPT as anEducational Platform" was held on April 9, 2024, aspart of the implementation of the work plan of theDepartment of Pedagogy of the Institute of Pedagogyand Psychology.

 

Following the presentation by Ph.D. Kursabayev M.K., where pedagogical and technological possibilities ofusing ChatGPT as an auxiliary tool in educational andupbringing activities in educational institutions werepresented, discussions were held. Ph.D. SaidakhmetovB.S., Murat Ayaulym (6B01522 Biology-Geography), Nishanbayev Ersin (6B01522 Biology-Geography), Rakhimzhanov Bakytzhan (6B01515), AkberenAyzharyk (6B01515), Kahar Nazgul (6B01515), andother speakers took part in discussing the presentation.

 

During the event, the impact of OpenAI`s ChatGPTdigital products on the education system, the use ofneural networks as image editors, the advantages andrisks of using generative intelligence in educationalactivities, and the technological capabilities of LLMs, GAN, Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIEd), GoogleBard, Gamma, YandexGPT, AishaAI werediscussed. The results of predicting the Aral Sea usingChatGPT-3.5 were also addressed.

 

As a result, participants put forward proposals for thedevelopment of a school textbook, comics forpreschoolers, applications for gadgets, and theinterpretation of scientific theses and articles onChatGPT phenomena".
