Presentation of certificates of the Abay-Vern scholarship program

 

         

 

July 9, 2018 at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute at KazNPU named after Abay, a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates of the Abay-Vern scholarship program took place.

 

The Abay-Vern scholarship program is the result of the signing of an agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of the French Republic. This program provides new opportunities for the training of Kazakhstan students in the universities of France.

 

According to the Admission Committee of the Abay-Vern scholarship program, for the 2018/2019 academic year, Several hundred candidates were submitted applications, of which the expert group selected 55 candidates from the number of undergraduates of the 2nd year and 10 candidates from among the doctoral students studying in Kazakhstan`s higher educational institutions.

 

The rector of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai Takir Balykbaev, the Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan Philippe Martine, the president of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the professor Murat Zhurinov, the executive secretary of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aryn Orsariev took part in the ceremony of certificates delivery.

 

In opening remarks, rector Takir Balykbaev said: "The first certificates of the Abay-Vern scholarship are awarded at the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay. We are grateful to the Ambassador of France, Philippe Martine, for the honor ... In 2014, the Institute was inaugurated in the presence of the presidents of the two countries. It became for us an island of education of France in Kazakhstan. The next important step in strengthening academic ties between Kazakhstan and France was the establishment of the Abai-Vern scholarship in 2017. We all know how high the research potential is in France, where our undergraduates and doctoral students now have the opportunity to learn and share experiences. Tomorrow these specialists will go to France, and afterwards return to their homeland, having received good knowledge. Congratulations to all holders of the scholarship and I wish you all the best! ".

 

During the event, congratulatory words were made by Philip Martine, Murat Zhurinov, Aryn Orsariev. Rector Takir Balykbayev and guests of the event handed certificates to holders of the scholarship.
