Name of the vacant position:

Head of the Development Strategy Support Unit of the Strategy Department

The main functional responsibilities of the structural unit:

- To organize and ensure the process of strategic planning (holding strategic sessions based on the results of monitoring the implementation of the Strategy Implementation Plan and, as appropriate, activities to develop strategic goals, elaboration of methods to achieve strategic objectives);

- To participate in the elaboration of the University Development Strategy and in the formation of key strategic development documents;

- To control the achievement of the strategic objectives (audit of the Strategy, monitoring the implementation plan of the objectives of the Strategy and the University Development Plan, sustainability of the strategy processes);

- Monitoring the implementation of the Development Strategy in the structural units of the university;

- Providing consulting services to the structural units on the University Development Strategy;

- Qualitative monitoring of the Strategy Implementation Plan and report on the results of monitoring;

- Coordination of the University participation in world rankings (institutional, subject, employability parameters, etc.).

Main job responsibilities:

- Supporting the development of the Strategy: preparation of the text of the Strategy, amendments to it, preparation of the presentation of the Strategy;

- Ensuring that the structural units are informed about the adopted Strategy;

- Development and analysis of the implementation plan of the Development Strategy;

- Preparation of reports (semi-annual and annual) on the results of the Implementation Plan monitoring;

- Promotion of the University in world rankings (institutional, subject, employability parameters, etc.);

- Carrying out general management and organisation of the department`s activities, ensuring control over the execution of orders, decisions of orders and directives of the management bodies of the Company, Department

Going on business trips:

Higher social-humanitarian, legal, economic, technical education

Academic degree at least Master`s degree 

Additional education in the field of management, MBA is desirable

Certificates in strategic management, education management, etc.

Required professional experience (duration, field, other)

At least 4 years, academic field, administrative experience in departments, university departments, state bodies

Professional Competencies:

1. Elaboration of the Strategy, the Strategy implementation plan, the University development plans;

2. Continuous monitoring of the implementation of the Strategy, the implementation plan of the University Strategy and training institutes;

3. Conducting strategic sessions;

4. Drawing up reports on the implementation of the Development Strategy and Development Plan;

5. Organising and coordinating the University`s participation in world rankings;

6. Participate in the development of internal regulatory documents of the Company, the Department

Personal competences and qualities:

Communicability, responsibility, honesty, determination, punctuality, leadership, teamwork and uncertainty, flexibility, adaptability, time management, management skills, presentation skills, developed emotional intelligence, stress resistance

Knowledge of languages, including the national language (list of languages the candidate must be proficient in)

Kazakh - fluent

Russian - fluent

English - read, write, understand at least B2 Upper-Intermediate

Computer skills:

Proficient in MS Office package (Word, Outlook), Excel, Google Drive/Docs/Meet, ZOOM, PowerPoint, Canva, work with world rankings database, documentator (docflow)
