There are 2 academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 2 corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, 21 doctors and 34 candidates of Sciences, 17 PhD doctors, 47 masters, senior lecturers and teachers at four departments of the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science.

The scientific and pedagogical activity of the Institute is aimed at solving urgent problems related to the theory and methodology of teaching mathematics, physics and computer science, as well as the introduction of new information and communication technologies into the education system. The Institute is actively developing theoretical and practical approaches to the creation of a digital university. One of the priorities of the Institute`s research is STEM education.

On the basis of the Institute there is a pedagogical STEM park, the purpose of which is to introduce innovative technologies in robotics and mechatronics into the system of higher and postgraduate education in Kazakhstan.

Together with Bilim Media Group, the BilimLab Educational Resource center was opened, which offers the opportunity to work on the BilimLand platform in both online and offline formats.

The Institute has 4 Dissertation Councils for the defense of dissertations for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), doctor in profile:

2. "Didactic and methodological foundations of teaching physical and mathematical disciplines at school and university" under the guidance of Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor A.E. Abylkassymova;
3. "Modern issues of differential equations of mathematical and computer modeling", "Differential equations of mathematical physics and their applications" under the guidance of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor A.S. Berdyshev;
4. Seminar of the Department of "Physics" under the guidance of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor V.N. Kossov.

Scientific and methodological seminars on the problems of education related to the activities of the Institute are also regularly held. Every year, scientific and practical conferences are organized for students and undergraduates, at which there is an opportunity to report their results on research work. Students and undergraduates participate in various Olympiads, competitions, sports competitions and take prizes. In addition, they actively participate not only in the scientific and social work of the institute, but also in the life of the city and the country.
