International olympiad «The Magical World of Eastern poetry»
On April 10, 2024 as part of the decade of science by the university professor, candidate of philological sciences K.Kh.Abdrakhmanova and senior lecturer D.M. Ashimova of the Institute of Philology, Chair of Eastern Philology and Translation organised an international Olympiad "The Magic World of Eastern Poetry".
The participants of the Olympiad included 23 students of 1-4 courses of Abai KazNPU, Azerbaijan Pedagogical University, Giresun University, Nevshehir Hadji Bektash Veli and Mugla Sytka Kochman. The main goal of the Olympiad is to identify knowledge and interest in the lyrics of poets-scientists of the East (Kazakh, Turkish, Arabic, Uighur) and expressive reading skills of students studying Eastern languages.
The opening speech was given to Gulnaz BaikonakovnaNuptekeeva, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Institute of Philology, who introduced the guests of the Olympics. Lecturers of Turkish universities - professor, doctor Erdogan Altynkainak, professor Adem Yeger, associate professor Ekrem Aayan, professor Vedi Ashkarogly andlecturer of Azerbaijan - doctor PhD Mehdizzade Gülschen also made congratulatory speech.
The jury was represented by the following colleagues:

After the assessment of the level of knowledge of each participant by the board, the winners of the Olympiad were established: «... from a hundred runners come out, from a thousand-tulpar».
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree diplomas were awarded to the winners of the Chair of Eastern Philology and Translation and the Giresun University. Prizes were determined by language sections. According to the section of the Turkish language: 1st place was awarded to Ayaulym Kaidar (Kazakhstan), 2nd place - Zəhra Iskəndərli (Azerbaijan), 3rd place - Elif Çağla Kara (Turkey), Arabic section: 1st place - Akerke Hamza (Kazakhstan, 2nd place - Altynai Sagyngalieva, 3rd Place - Aysu Selvi (Turkey). Winners of the Uighur branch: 1st place - Dilnaz Nadyrova (Kazakhstan), 2nd place - Derya Yılmaz (Turkey), 3rd place - Sahinur Mutalipova (Kazakhstan).
The Knowledge Festival ended with a speech of gratitude by the head of the Chair of Eastern Philology and Translation, N.N.Konkabaeva. N.N. Konkabaeva and the guests of the Olympiad congratulated all students: not only those who took prizes, but also students who were active in this event and wished success in their studies and in the scientific field. Honored guests for their part also made congratulations and expressions of gratitude to colleagues and noted the high level of organization of the literary and linguistic Olympiad.
