Visit to the Almaty Museum in the framework of the Decade of Science - 2018
On 7 April 2018, teachers of the Chair of Practical Languages Almagul Sintemirova, Meruert Alibayeva, Zaura Umirzakova, Saule Nurgali, Aida Nurbaeva, students of the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics, Institute of Geography and Natural Sciences visited the Almaty Museum, which since 2016 has settled down in a historical place - a building of Vernensky orphanage in Kabanbai batyr street, where the medical college was located for a long time.
To date, this museum is the main attraction of our city. In the museum`s collections there are about 40 thousand exhibits, including works of fine art, unique collections of Kazakh ethnography, collections of objects of everyday life of different epochs and cultures of our city. There are 11 rooms in the museum: «The Ancient History of Almaty», «Medieval History of Almaty», «In the Origins of the Kazakh Statehood», «The Ethnography of Zhetysu», «The Vernyi Period of History in Almaty», «Almaty in the 20th Century», «The Development of Culture and Art», «History of mountaineering», «Zheltoksan», «Almaty and the leader of the nation», «Model of peace and harmony». The museum also features ancient artifacts found in the city, and exhibits from the times of the Kazakh Khanate, the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and independent Kazakhstan. Interesting objects of the Kazakh life, expositions devoted to the old Faith and the Soviet period. Here you can stroll along the medieval street, under which the water pipe is laid; to see the latest archaeological works on the territory of the city, presented in the exposition by unique artifacts; visit the living room of the city of Verny and fans of technical means - to see a fantastic collection of television and radio equipment of the Soviet period. The museum created a unique atmosphere of immersion in any historical epoch of Almaty.
Each inscription is duplicated in three languages. Some rooms are equipped with holograms projecting images of museum exhibits in an almost original form. Also in each hall there are information kiosks, where you can get detailed information in three languages about the culture and life of the city.
Among the exhibits you can find everyday clothes of Kazakhs of that time, chain mail, helmets and weapons of batyrs, ornaments. The students saw the mandolin of the well-known Kazakh composer Shamshi Kaldayakov - the author of the song, which formed the basis of the modern anthem of Kazakhstan and one of the first drum sets of the VIE "Dos Mukasan". In addition, the guide told in detail about the hall dedicated to the December events of 1986. Documents and statements of relatives, from the family of Kairat Ryskulbekov - one of the participants in the December events sentenced to 12 years in prison, are presented in the hall. The hall "Almaty in the 20th century" was interesting, dedicated to important milestones in the history of Almaty - the capital of the Kazakh SSR.
On this day, students were lucky to get acquainted with the exhibition «Golden sewing art: traditions and modernity», winner of the 15th Jager Prize of the Republican festival of creative youth, national award for public recognition of achievements of women of Kazakhstan «Azhar», member of the Union of Kazakhstan artists Aizhan Abdubayit.
