We are implementing the project «Humanitarian knowledge». 100 new textbooks in the Kazakh language

On September 30, 2019, at the Department of Russian Language and Literature, a presentation of recommended literature was held as part of the implementation of the Rukhani Zhangyru program, which included the task of translating the best textbooks written by specialists of other countries into Kazakh. The senior teacher of the department Zakira Kokenova prepared a presentation on the recommended literature in accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From the proposed list of textbooks translated into Kazakh, textbooks on linguistics and literary criticism were selected.

The speaker dwelled in more detail on the textbook «Introduction to Linguistics» by Victoria Fromkin, a linguist scientist, bachelor of economics from the University of California and Berkeley, a master`s degree, doctor of sciences, head of the department of linguistics, and president of the US linguistic society. It was noted that a clear description of objects and processes, a pedagogical orientation in the methods of presenting information, and innovative tasks will arouse interest among students.

The members of the department decided to use the recommended textbook «Introduction to Linguistics» by V. Fromkin in the educational process, as well as in the management of scientific works of students and undergraduates.
