«Results of the VI Republican Children’s Contest of Local History–Based Mathematical Problems for Primary School Students with International Participation

 

The Department of Primary Education held for the sixth time the traditional Children’s Contest of local history–based mathematical problems for primary school students with international participation. The contest was conducted in an online format and brought together students of Grades 1–4 from various regions of Kazakhstan (Astana, Almaty, Taraz, Almaty Region, Zhambyl Region), as well as schools of the Russian Federation (Moscow Region, the city of Lobnya). A total of 87 works were submitted. The most active participation was demonstrated by the following educational institutions: NGS School, Giraffe Primary School, Gymnasium No. 120 named after M. Begalin, School-Gymnasium No. 8, Private Educational Institution “Gymnasium named after M. Turlykhanova”, KEMEL City Physics and Mathematics School, Gymnasium No. 46 (Almaty), Secondary School-Gymnasium of the village of Almalybak (Almaty Region), Republican Physics and Mathematics School (Astana), MBEI ITL “Aviatika” (Lobnya, Russian Federation). The contest was held in the following nominations: “Architecture of My Native Land,” “Cultural Life of My City (District, Village),” “Sports Achievements of My City (District, Village),” “History of My Native Land,” “The Feat of My People during the Great Patriotic War,” “Geography of My Native Land,” “Outstanding Personalities of My Small Homeland.” The evaluation of the конкурс works was carried out by the contest jury from January 31 to February 11, 2026, and the official announcement of the results took place on February 12, 2026. The jury included university faculty members and practicing teachers from Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation: professors of Kazakh National Women’s Teacher Training University L.E. Ageeva and E.N. Agranovich; senior lecturers of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University R.Zh. Bazarbekova and Zh.K. Astambaeva; primary school teachers N.V. Verzílova (Prometeus School, Almaty), A.K. Dzhankenova (Bekbolat village, Almaty Region, Kapal Batyr Secondary School), Z.A. Obulgazieva (School-Gymnasium No. 15, Almaty), I.V. Farat and K.M. Borodikhina (Secondary School No. 64 named after the 73rd Guards Red Banner Stalingrad–Danube Rifle Division, Almaty), R.M. Kebirova (Gymnasium No. 46, Almaty), V.V. Burovova (School No. 548, Moscow, Russian Federation), and E.V. Ryabova (MBEI ITL “Aviatika,” Lobnya, Russian Federation). The best contest works were distinguished by originality of concept, high-quality local history content, and compliance with the mathematical content appropriate to the specific grade level. The organizing committee included second-year master’s students of the educational program 7M01303 – Primary Education in a Multicultural Environment of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University K.V. Degtyaryova and E.A. Kulakova, as well as professors of the Department of Primary Education A.B. Akpayeva and L.A. Lebedeva. The conduct of the contest once again confirmed its significance for the development of research thinking and for fostering primary school students’ interest in mathematics and their native land.
