KazNPU Doctoral Students Presented Their Reports at an International Scientific Forum on Historical Heritage

 

On November 28, 2025, the Faculty of History and Law of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Smagul Sadvakasov: Time and Legacy,” dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Smagul Sadvakasov, an outstanding representative of the Kazakh intelligentsia of the early 20th century and a prominent statesman and public figure.

 

The conference program included a plenary session and four sectional sessions. The event was attended by doctoral students of Professor Gabit Kapezovich Kenzhebayev, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at Abai KazNPU — Turlybai Bakhyt Serikkyzy, Kundyzbai Diana Kuantaikyzy, and Berikbolova Aizada Zhanbotakyzy, who presented their scholarly reports. In particular, Turlybai Bakhyt Serikkyzy, a 3rd-year doctoral student of the educational program 8D01605 – Training of History Teachers, delivered a presentation in Section III titled “Issues of Periodical Press in the Early 20th Century and S. In Section IV, Kundyzbai Diana Kuantaikyzy, a 3rd-year doctoral student of the program 8D01601 – Training of History Teachers, presented her research titled “The Phenomenon of Refugee Movements in Kazakhstan in the 1920s–1930s: In the Context of Postcolonial Analysis.”

 

Aizada Berikbolova Zhanbotakyzy, a 1st-year doctoral student of the educational program 8D02202 – History, delivered a presentation titled “Types of Philanthropic Activities in the Field of Culture and Education in Akmola and Semipalatinsk Regions (Second Half of the 19th – Early 20th Century).”

 

The conference brought together historians and scholars from Kazakhstan, as well as from near and far abroad, who shared relevant views and new findings on the socio-political and spiritual legacy of Smagul Sadvakasov.
