Today, the Institute of History and Law has competent human resources, with their help they provide scientific and methodological assistance to students, undergraduates, and doctoral students of the institute.
Currently, the Institute employs 134 teachers: including two academicians of NAS RK - Mambet Koigeldiev and Khankeldi Abzhanov; three corresponding members of NAS RK - Abzhanov Raushanbek, Kulsarieva Aktolkyn and Kenzhebaev Gabit; 30 doctors of sciences, 43 candidates of sciences and 11 PhDs; 50 masters and senior teachers. The scientific potential is 63%, the average age is 40 years. Among them are three graduates of the Bolashak International Program 2023.
Teachers at the Institute of History and Law actively participate in scientific research, the results of which are constantly published in publications recommended by the educational control committee, such as Web of Science, Scopus, included in the indexing system.
The results of the scientific and scientific-methodological activities of the department`s teachers are contained in monographs, textbooks and teaching aids, methodological developments.
In 2023, 319 articles were published based on the results of the Institute`s scientific research.. Among them: articles in Scopus journals - 22, articles in journals from far and near abroad - 38, articles in journals of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 59, articles in conferences and other journals of the Republic of Kazakhstan - 157.

Since 2018, the Council for the defense of dissertations for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the direction "6D011400 - History" has been operating. The chairman of the council is academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor M. Koigeldiev.
Every year a scientific and practical conference is organized for students and undergraduates based on the results of research work. The materials of the scientific and practical conference are published in the form of a special collection. Based on its results, the best works are submitted to republican competitions. Students and undergraduates annually take part in republican Olympiads, competitions and win prizes. At the same time, students and undergraduates participate in the scientific and social work of the institute and take an active part in city-level events. Winners of the republican KVN games, winners of international sports competitions in wrestling, cycling and other masters of sports. In accordance with the strategic development plan of the institute for 2023-2029, the 3rd international scientific and practical conference and the 2nd republican scientific and practical conference on various topics are regularly held.
