The Laboratory of Innovative Technologies was organized at the end of 2009 and in 2016 was renamed the Laboratory of Innovation and Nanotechnology.

The laboratory is a structural subdivision of the Scientific and Innovation Park "AbaiLABS".

The goal of the laboratory is to solve actual fundamental and applied problems of using renewable energy sources, energy saving and alternative energy sources, to carry out research and development work and commercialization of research developments, as well as educational work in the field of nanotechnology and nanosystem sciences.

The laboratory team, at the expense of the World Bank grant, carried out a project for the commercialization of complex hydraulic stations and organized their commercial production on the basis of machine-building plants in Almaty.
